Do I need reports from all 3 major bureaus?

Hitting A Credit Home Run

Keeping tabs on your credit report and score can be a bit confusing for many people. Often times someone hears that there are three major credit reporting agencies in the United States and assumes that they should just pick any one company and go through them to get their credit report.

But this is not like finding a manufacturer that you like and then buying only that company's products. All 3 credit report bureaus are important because they are separate entities. A lender might check all three or only one company for your credit report. If there is a mistake on one bureaus report, it does not mean that it will show up on another's.

So let's say you check the Equifax report and it is fine, but a lender looks at TransUnion's report before approving or declining you. If there is an error on that report, you could be declined because of it but you never knew there was a mistake in the first place.

That is why it is beneficial to get all three reports from the different agencies through services like Identity Guard®, which can compile everything in one place for you to see and walk you through what it all means.

Think of it like baseball. If you want to score at home you have to go through first, second and third base before you can cross the plate. Monitoring reports from all three agencies in the only way to hit a home run for sure. You want the 3 credit reports in 1.
